1. Planxty's 2nd official album (the first Christy Moore solo outing, 'Prosperous' being their first album together) is the match that lit the fire in me for Irish traditional music. The Chieftains are great, no argument, but the voice has always been my favorite instrument in every genre of music, and Planxty cannot be beat for fine examples of /5(24).

3. "THE WELL BELOW THE VALLEY" had never been collected from oral tradition in Britain or Ireland until Tom Munnelly heard John Reilly of Boyle, Co. Roscommon sing it. Other versions of the song appear in Child's Collection (No. 21). From these it is apparent that the song is based on the story of Jesus at the Well.

Here we have Planxty, with their album “‎AFTER THE BREAK”, a Vinyl LP on the original Irish TARA label number It was released in The record is in remarkably clean condition, and plays very well indeed. It’s probably a very strong VG++ or better.. It is as shiny as a healthy Labrador’s nose. The sleeve is clean and complete (see photo) and I’d rate it, as a very nice.
